Every image Midjourney gives me for our product pages looks like a stock photo, and longer prompts are making it worse.
These are the header images for three product pages. What I want is something that looks like the people who actually use us: small support teams, ordinary offices, real desks with things on them. What I get is the same three smiling people around the same silver laptop in the same white room, every single time. My prompt is about five sentences and includes "professional, modern, authentic, reflecting our brand values of trust and clarity", and the more I add to it the more generic the result. Tell me the prompt is the problem, because I am fairly sure it is.
The length is the problem. Past about three sentences Midjourney averages everything you asked for, and the average of every good adjective is a stock photo. Mine is four things now and nothing else: subject, light, lens, mood. "Two colleagues at a cluttered desk, low winter light from a window on the left, 35mm, quiet and unposed." That gave me something usable on the second try.
Cut mine down to that shape this morning and it is already better. I had a whole sentence about brand values in there, which I now realise is a phrase that means nothing at all to an image model.
Also tell it what must not be in the shot. Ours ends with: no smiling stock people, no silver laptop, no white background, no lens flare. It leaves things out very willingly once asked, and never on its own.
