Who holds your information
Creovine, incorporated in Nigeria and Rwanda, running Creovine Academy at academy.creovine.com. Write to team@creovine.com about anything on this page.
Your academy account is separate from every other Creovine product. It is not shared with our business software, and signing up here does not create an account anywhere else.
What we collect, and why each piece
To have an account: your name and email address. If you sign in with Google we also receive an identifier from Google and, if your Google account has one, a photograph. If you set a password we store a scrambled version of it that cannot be turned back into your password.
To sell you something: what you bought, when, how much you paid and in what currency. We do not see or store your card details. Cards are handled entirely by our payment providers, described below.
To teach you: which lessons you have opened and how far through each one you are, so the platform can carry on where you left off and unlock what you have earned.
If you join the Academy Track, a graded programme with a certificate, we also ask for four things, and each exists because something breaks without it:
- Your legal name, because a certificate is a snapshot taken on the day it is issued and cannot be corrected afterwards.
- Your country and timezone, because coursework has deadlines and a deadline missed by arithmetic still costs marks.
- A phone number, so a deadline or exam reminder has a second way to reach you when email does not. It is never used for marketing.
- A photograph, shown to the people you study with and to whoever marks your work.
You may also tell us your gender, your age range and how much programming you have done. All three are optional, you can leave them blank or change them later, and they are used to understand who the programme reaches. We ask for an age range rather than a date of birth on purpose: the range answers the question and a date of birth would be a far more valuable thing to lose.
We do not ask for identity documents. No passport, no national ID, no driving licence. Our certificates state that you have mastered the material, not that we inspected your papers, so collecting them would create a risk with nothing on the other side of it.
Why we are allowed to hold it
Most of it because we cannot deliver what you bought without it: an account, a purchase, a place in a cohort. Some of it because the law requires us to keep it, such as records of payments. The optional questions, and any marketing email, only because you agreed, and you can take that back at any time without losing anything you paid for.
Where your information is held
On servers in the United States, run by Amazon Web Services and Cloudflare. If you are in Nigeria, the European Union or anywhere else, that means your information is transferred out of your country to be stored. We use providers that contract to protect it to the standard your own law expects.
Who else sees it
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for advertising. These are the companies that necessarily handle some of it, and what each one gets:
- Polar processes card payments outside Nigeria as Merchant of Record. They receive your name, email and payment details, and they are the seller of record on that transaction.
- Paystack processes payments in naira and receives your email and payment details.
- Amazon Web Services and Cloudflare store the data and the videos. Records are held in the United States.
- Resend delivers email, so it handles your address and the contents of the messages we send you.
- Google, only if you choose to sign in with Google.
Other learners see what you put on your profile: your display name, your photograph, your headline and anything you post in the community. Whether your profile is listed publicly, and whether it shows your certificates, are both settings you control.
Cookies
One cookie keeps you signed in, and one remembers whether you chose a light or dark theme. There are no advertising cookies and no cross-site tracking. Signing out clears the first one.
How long we keep it
While your account exists. Ask us to delete it and access ends immediately, and the records are erased fourteen days later. The delay is deliberate and it protects you: an account deleted by a mistaken tap, or by somebody who got into it, can be recovered inside that window and not after it.
Two things outlive the account. Records of payments are kept because tax law requires it. Certificates already issued stay verifiable, because a certificate an employer cannot check is worth nothing to you.
What you can ask for
A copy of what we hold, a correction to anything wrong, or deletion. Any of those, at any time, by writing to team@creovine.com. You can also change most of it yourself from your profile.
You can stop the one message we send that is marketing without losing anything you need. Receipts, exam results, deadline reminders and certificates are part of what you paid for and are sent regardless.
If you think we have got it wrong
Tell us first at team@creovine.com and we will fix it. If that does not satisfy you, you can complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission, or to the data protection regulator in your own country. You do not need our permission to do that and we will not hold it against you.
Children
You have to be 18 or older to hold an account here. Data protection law in both countries the academy operates from, Nigeria and Rwanda, treats anyone under 18 as a child, and what the academy asks for, a name, a photograph, a phone number and a payment, is not something we are willing to collect from a child on the strength of a tick box.
A parent or guardian can hold the account and enrol a younger learner on it. If we find out an account belongs to someone under 18 we close it, delete what we hold, and refund what is left unused.
Security, honestly stated
Traffic is encrypted, passwords are stored scrambled, videos sit behind a check on every request, and administrative actions are recorded. No service can promise it will never be breached. If one happens and it affects you, we will tell you what was taken and when, rather than waiting to be asked.
Changes
If we change anything on this page that matters, we will email everyone with an account before it takes effect. The date at the top of this page is the version in force, and it reads 5 September 2026.
